Quick Tip: How to Fix Sliding Straps in a Snap
Want to fix sliding straps in a snap? There is a hack for that. Four of them, actually. Read on to learn our quick tips for keeping your straps from slipping.
1. Adjust your straps
There is a reason all our everyday bra styles feature adjustable straps; it allows for a custom fit. Taking 30 seconds to adjust your bra straps to fit your body can mean the difference between a secure fit and a slippery situation. We make our bras with adjustable straps to fit women from 4’10” to 6’ tall, and every height and body type in this range will benefit from tiny tweaks to deliver a terrific fit.
2. Utilize a j-hook
If your bra straps come with a j-hook feature, take advantage of it! Especially if you have sloping shoulders, the j-hook will quickly become your new best friend. This small piece of hardware is easy to miss if you don’t know it’s there but once you start using it, you will be hooked (no pun intended!). When the j-hook is clasped, traditional straps instantly turn into a racerback. They sit snug along the shoulders and back and won’t slip or slide.
3. Consider a convertible
Convertible styles allow for straps to be worn in several ways depending on the bra, there could be as many as 5 options from traditional to one shoulder, strapless and more. When looking to make sure that straps don’t slide, the crisscross option is a safe bet for a secure, no-slip fit.
4. Add a racerback into your bra wardrobe
There are many things to love about racerback bras from the flattering lines they create along the back and shoulders to their ability to disappear under tank tops with tricky necklines. And one more thing that racerbacks consistently deliver? Straps that fit so securely, they never slip and slide.
